Zoological studies of two birds, each varieties of honeyeater. Figure 1: the Rotuma myzomela Myzomela chermesina. Figure 2: Sclater's myzomela Myzomela sclateri. The birds are native to Fiji and Papua New Guinea respectively. Plate 3 in The collected scientific papers of the late William Alexander Forbes, edited by F.E. Beddard (London, R.H. Porter, 1885). Originally published as 'A synopsis of the meliphagine genus Myzomela, with descriptions of two new species', Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, 1879, pp.256-279.
