Annotated in ink below this "neg. no.1a." Robert Arthur Talbot Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Salisbury was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1869 and served as a Vice-President 1882-1883 and 1893-1894.
