'View into the Chasm...'
Landscape view from above the chasm, largely obscured by steam. Full title caption on a tissue overlay "View into the Chasm where Lake Rotomahana was from East Slope of Te Hape-o-toroa." An additional inscription on the far right background reads "Hills towards Galatea." The image is scaled along the bottom edge "5,000 yards." The print is embossed "Charles Spencer, photographer".
