The greater siren from Linnaeus's 'Academic delights'
The greater siren (<i>Sirens lacertina</i>) from thesis CXLII 'Siren lacertina' by Abrahamus Osterdam, 1766, published in volume 7 of Amoenitates academicae (Stockholm, 1769). Amoenitates academicae ('Academic delights', 10 volumes, 1749-1790) was published in Carl Linnaeus's name, and edited by him (vols 1-7) and J C D Schreber (vols 8-10). It consisted of theses presented and defended by students at Uppsala University.
