Portrait of 'woman with a ring'
Full length portrait with allegorical content of a young woman in a pearl grey silk dress with yellow sash. Her right hand trails under water falling from an urn into a round stone trough upon which a gold ring with a dark blue stone has been placed near to the edge, as if just taken from her finger. Her left hand supports the sash. The woman's fair hair has ringlets and she wears a pearl necklace. At her breast is a jewel in the form of a cross with five square-cut stones [sapphires?] four pearls and three teardrop pearls. Her bell sleeves are pinned back by matching jewel studs and she wears a fur stole across the shoulders secured by a pearl and sapphire band. The dark stole has a gold ring through the animal's nose. A wooded landscape appears behind.
