Portrait of Justus von Liebig (1803-1873)
Half length portrait of Liebig, seated and leaning on a covered table which bears a book. Liebig is shown half-face looking to the right as viewed and holding a paper or pamphlet in his right hand. Inscribed "Engraved by C.Cook from an original photograph. BARON JUSTUS LIEBIG M.D. F.R.S. &c. PROFESSOR IN THE UNIVERSITY OF MUNICH." With a facsimile signature lower right. Justus von Liebig was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1840.
