Full length studio portrait of John Fox Burgoyne, his right hand resting upon a marble pillar with a curtain or drape behind. Burgoyne holds a sheaf of papers in his right hand and a hat and umbrella in his left. Printed below the image: "MAULL & POLYBLANK, LONDON." The reverse has various inscriptions. Printed: "MAULL & POLYBLANK, Photographers, 55, GRACECHURCH STREET, and 187a, PICCADILLY, LONDON." Field Marshall Sir John Fox Burgoyne, 1st Baronet, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1856.
