Half length portrait of Isaac Newton aged 83 years, after Vanderbank's original oil painting of 1726. The engraving is inscribed: "Engraved by E.Scrimm. SIR ISAAC NEWTON. From the original Picture by Vanderbank in the possession of the Royal Society. Under the superintendence of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge. London. Published by Charles Knight Pall Mall East." Isaac Newton was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1672, he served as its President from 1703 to 1727.
