Full length portrait of Isaac Newton, seated, with a globe to the right as viewed. After Vanderbank's original oil painting of 1726. The engraving is inscribed: "SIR ISAAC NEWTON G.M.Brighty del. J.Vanderbank pinxt., Pub.Augt.1.1817. by C.G.Dyer. Compton Stt. Soho. Romner sculp." The engraving has a facsimile signature. Isaac Newton was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1672, he served as its President from 1703 to 1727.
