Full length studio portrait of Henry William Bristow seated with his left elbow leaning on a covered table upon which rests a single book. A drape and wainscot appear behind. Inscribed below the image: "MAULL & Co. LONDON". The reverse is variously inscribed: printed "MAULL & Co. Photographers, 55, GRACECHURCH STREET, 187a PICCADILLY and TAVISTOCK HOUSE, FULHAM ROAD. LONDON." Below, the negative number: "35249". Henry William Bristow was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1862.
