Plate 15 from the paper "On the double organs of generation of the lamprey, the conger eel, the common eel, the barnacle, and the earthworm, which impregnate themselves; though the last from copulating, appear mutually to impregnate one another", by Everard Home, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol.113 (1823), pp.140-151. Figures 1-4 show the ovaries and testicles of the lamprey, at magnifications of x2 and x5. Figures 5-7 show the ovaries, testicles and air bladder of the conger eel, at natural size and at magnifications of x5 and x50. Inscribed with publication and plate details. Signed in pencil lower left "F.Bauer delt." Royal Society stamp verso.
