Muscae polonicae'
Two views of a flying insect, seen from beneath: one at natural size and one viewed under a low powered microscope. The author describes the fly as ‘Muscis polonicus’: the illustration appears to show a variety of sawfly or horntail.
Plate associated with Observation 40, ‘De Muscis polonicis exitiosis’, by Gottfried Samuel Polis, Miscellanea curiosa medico-physica…1685 (Nuremburg, 1686) pp.98-100.
