Mercury solution
Solutions of mercury salts in wine glasses, illustrating the colour of each solution. Figure 82 shows mercury oxide salts ['Quecksilberoxydulsalze'] in six solutions, including (number 6) with a copper rod. Figure 83 shows mercuric oxide [?] salts ['Quecksilberoxydsalze'] in five solutions, including (number 5) with a copper rod. Figures 82-83 from Das Laboratorium…v.1 (Weimar, 1840). Inscribed above 'Taf: LXXXII. LXXXIII.' Both sets of figures are headed 'QUECKSILBER and there is a numbered key to each solution beneath the images.
