Marine plankton from thesis XXXIX 'Noctiluca marina' by Carolus Frid. Adler, 1752, published in volume 3 of Amoenitates academicae (Stockholm, 1756). Amoenitates academicae ('Academic delights', 10 volumes, 1749-1790) was published in Carl Linnaeus's name, and edited by him (vols 1-7) and J C D Schreber (vols 8-10). It consisted of theses presented and defended by students at Uppsala University.
