Friedrich Magnus Schwerd (1792-1871), German teacher and physicist, author of Die Beugungserscheinungen…(Mannheim, 1835). John Tyndall (1820-1893), British physicist and mountaineer, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1852.
