Ichthyological study of a globefish, here styled Orbis Salviani, shown full-face, taking on a spherical shape.
Printed inscription: ‘Pisces corpore contractiore vel saltern non admodum lubrico: qui pinnis ventralibus carent./ Orbis Salvian. Primus Rondel. Tab. I.1. Sumpt D. Edward Haynes. e. S. R.’ with further handwritten annotation ‘Orbis Niloticus seu Ægyptiacus Globe or Scull fish of Egypt’. Numbered ‘49’ in the top right-hand corner.
