Ferrum arseniatum
Two specimens of iron arsenate crystals, here termed 'arseniate of iron' with figures showing their cubic crystalline form. Plate 87 from British mineralogy: or coloured figures intended to elucidate the mineralogy of Great Britain, by James Sowerby, volume 1 (London, R.Taylor & Co., 1804). The accompanying text states that "This was mostly confounded with arseniate of copper until the celebrated Chenevix, by analysis, ascertained it...see Phil. Trans. for 1801..." The plate is inscribed: "Augt. 1 1804. Published by Jas. Sowerby, London."
