Felled tree and damaged house near Roehampton
Figure for the paper "Account of the hurricane that passed over Roehampton & parts adjacent in October 1780. Illustrated by four drawings made on the spot a few days after the storm", by Edward Edwards. Landscape showing an elm tree snapped at the trunk and carried over a hedge to rest in front of a dwelling house. The house shows roof damage and a partially demolished gable end. In the right foreground is a group of sightseers: two women, one showing the damage to a young boy. To their right, a servant holds a horse. The painting is initialled lower left "E.E. 1780" and the mount is inscribed lower right "No.2"
