Garden landscape, by Henry Fletcher (fl.1710-1750), featuring a fashionable 18th century couple being escorted around a walled [or topiary] garden by a horticulturalist who has doffed his hat and points towards the left of the image as viewed. Inscribed below "Exiguus spatio, variis sed fertilis herbis. [A small space but rich in various herbs]. Engrav'd by Henry Fletcher London 1729." Frontispiece of Catalogus plantarum...a catalogue of trees, shrubs, plants, and flowers, both exotic and domestic, which are propagated for sale, in the gardens near London. By a Society of Gardeners. (London, 1730).
