Davy lamp Humphry Davy
Product images of Davy lamp
Original model for a miners' safety lamp by Humphry Davy. Davy created the lamp for use in coal mines, he discovered that a flame enclosed inside the fine mesh does not ignite firedamp (methane and other flammable gases) thus preventing explosions.
