Studies of two species of cicadas from North America from specimens described by Peter Collinson FRS (1694-1768) and apparently sent to him by John Bartram FRS (1699-1777). Seven figures showing mature and immature insects with a wooden branch into which eggs were laid. Plate 8 for the paper "Some observations on the cicada of North America...", by Peter Collinson, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol.54 (1764) pp.65-68.
