'Castelluccio' [earthquake damage]

View of the relatively undamaged town of Castelluccio, Italy. The town is set upon a hill down which with cracks and rock falls are visible. Inscribed verso "No. Castellucio" in ink and with a pencil annotation "page 32 p.1. Reduced size, to be shaded". Numbered "11" in pencil upper right. Collected by Robert Mallet and reproduced as a lithograph in his 1862 Report, vol.1 pp.28-29.
