Bluebottle fly and Fever-fly legs

Plate 18 figures 1-11 from the paper "Farther observations on the feet of animals whose progressive motion can be carried on against gravity", by Everard Home, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol.106 (1816), pp.322-330. Eleven views and details of legs from the Bluebottle (Musca vomitoria) and Fever-fly (Bibio febrilis) at x100 and x6,400 magnification. Signed lower left "Franz Bauer". Royal Society stamp verso, with an inscription in ink: "Fig. 1, and fig.8 magnified 100 times. Figs. 2,3,4,5,6,7 and 9,10,11 magnified 6,400 times.
