'A Kangaroo'
Zoological study of the Eastern Grey Kangaroo (Macropus giganteus), the Australian marsupial. Plate 54 from Journal of a voyage to New South Wales...by John White (J.Debrett, London, 1790). The accompanying text states that: "This animal (probably from its size) was the principal one taken notice of in this island; the only parts at first brought home were some skins and sculls; and I was favoured with one of the sculls from Sir Joseph Banks..." The plate is inscribed: "C. Catton Junr. delin. A Kangaroo. London. Published as the Act directs Dec: 29, 1789, by I.Debrett."
