Experiments on galvanism carried out by Italian physicist Giovanni Aldini. Figure 1 shows 'the manner of producing convulsions in cold-blooded animals, by the influence of warm-blooded animals'; Figures 2, 3 and 4 show various methods of inducing muscular convulsions in frog muscles via the application of an electric current.
