Three quarter length studio portrait of Daubeny, seated, wearing academic robes. Daubeny wears spectacles and is posed with hands lightly clasped on his lap. Behind, a book rests on a round table. Signed below "Charles Daubeny" and embossed "HILLS PHOTOGRAPHER OXFORD". Inscribed in pencil verso "Professor Daubeny D.D F.R.S; F.G.S. Natural History Oxford." Initialled in ink "JR". Charles G B Daubeny was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1822.
