Head and shoulders portrait of Hudson Gurney, seated and in profile, with scattered books behind. Plate 12 of set of portraits of persons present at trial of Queen Caroline. Inscribed: "A.Wivell Delt. J.Cochran Sculpt. Hudson Gurney Esqr. M.P. Plate 12. Proof London, Published June 24th. 1823, by A.Wivell, No.40 Castle Street East, St Marylebone." In pencil, lower left "1818?". Hudson Gurney was elected a Fellow of Royal Society in 1818.
