Full length studio portrait of William Thomas Brande, seated, his right hand holding a pen and resting on a table poised above on a sheaf of paper. A small bust is visible near a book on the table. Printed below the image: "MAULL & POLYBLANK, LONDON." The reverse has various inscriptions. Printed: "MAULL & POLYBLANK, Photographers, 55, GRACECHURCH STREET, and 187a, PICCADILLY LONDON." A negative number is inscribed below: "No.32937". William Thomas Brande was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1809.
