Pear varieties
Botanical study of two varieties of cultivated pear. Figure 1. Swan Pear. Figure 2. Winter Bell Pear. The plate shows the fruit only.

Ebenezer Emmons (1799-1863) American geologist, associated with the Geological Survey of the State of New York. His son acted as a paid assistant and illustrator after Emmons senior’s appointment as the State Geologist.
