Ceramium deslongchampsii

Botanical study of marine algae Ceramium deslongchampsii, referred to here as Ceramium agardhianum. Depicts two specimens, one with clearly defined branches of tuft filaments [above], and one with dense, interwoven tufts [below]. Captioned below ‘Ceramium Agardhianum’ in a photographic facsimile of the author’s handwriting.

Blueprint from Photographs of British algae: cyanotype impressions, by Anna Atkins, volume II (London, 1843-1852).

Anna Atkins (1799-1871) was a British botanist, plant-collector and photographer.
