'Zebra volute and Lineated volute'
Marine zoological studies (front and rear views) of shells identified by the author as distinct types: now classified together as Amoria zebra. Figure 1 Zebra volute Voluta zebra. Figure 2 Lineated volute Voluta lineata. The shell is found in Australian waters. Plate 12 from The zoological miscellany; being a description of new, or interesting animals, by William Elford Leach, volume 1 (London, 1815). The plate is inscribed: "Drawn Engraved & Published by R. P. Nodder 1814." William Elford Leach (1790-1836) British naturalist was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1816.
