Ichthyological study of the sailfish [top] and swordfish [middle], here styled Guebucu Brasiliensibus and Xiphias respectively, with a detail of the latter’s head [bottom].
Printed inscription: ‘1. Guebucu Brasiliensibus: Becabe de la mer./ 2. Xiphias piscis. Swordfish./ Tab. I:27. Sumpt: Tho: Gale STD. e. S. R.’ with further handwritten annotation ‘The Spada Marina of Imperati Hist: Nat: p.687.679 is another fish taken about Naples.’ Numbered ‘75’ in the top right-hand corner.
