Peristeria barkeri
Botanical illustration of Acineta barkeri here styled Peristeria barkeri or Mr Barker's Peristeria orchid. A single specimen showing a cluster of three large pseudo bulbs. Long leaves emerge from the base of the bulbs and the apex of the central bulb with the other two no longer in growth. Two pendulous scapes bearing several medium sized yellow flowers with closed petals grow out from the bottom amongst a tangle of green tipped roots. Two further scapes are growing down from the base of the bulbs but not yet bearing flowers. A detail of the leaf, column and lips of the plant can be seen on the right and lower right-hand side as viewed.
