'Pennantian Parrot'

Ornithological study of a male Crimson Rosella (Platycercus elegans) native to Australia. Plate 13 from Journal of a voyage to New South Wales...by John White (J.Debrett, London, 1790). The accompanying text states that: "The Pennantian Parrot...was about this time fist noticed. The general colour of hte body, in the male, is crimson..." The plate is inscribed: "S.Stone Delin. Pennantian Parrot. London Published Dec: 29, 1789, by I.Debrett."
