Head and shoulder studio portrait of McClintock, looking to the right as viewed. Oval, within a printed decorative border. Printed inscription: "SIR LEOPOLD McCLINTOCK. Lock and Whitfield. Woodbury Process." With an original printed sheet containing a brief biography of the subject. Originally published as part of: Thompson Cooper, Men of Mark, a Gallery of Contemporary Portraits of Men Distinguished in the Senate, the Church, in Science, Literature and Art, the Army, Navy, Law, Medicine, etc. [Woodburytyped] from Life by Lock and Whitfield (London: S. Low, Marston, Searle and Rivington, 1876-1883). Sir Francis Leopold McClintock was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1865.
