'Cuprum carbonatum'
Two specimens of copper carbonate here termed 'Carbonate of copper' with two details of 'arseniate of copper' for comparison. Plate 94 from British mineralogy: or coloured figures intended to elucidate the mineralogy of Great Britain, by James Sowerby, volume 1 (London, R.Taylor & Co., 1804). The accompanying text states that "The present specimen is a very rare and curious modification of carbonate of copper. At present I know of only two specimens; one belonging to P. Rashleigh, Esq., and the other in the possession of Mr. R.Phillips. " The plate is inscribed: "Octr. 1 1804. Published by Jas. Sowerby, London.
